Nick Aldis Took NWA Pay Cut During Pandemic
Nick Aldis has shared some info during his time as part of the NWA during the pandemic.
During the pandemic, a lot of companies were hit hard due to a lot of wrestling shows having to be cancelled or held behind closed doors including WrestleMania 36. Outside of WWE and AEW, many companies struggled, even a company as long standing in the industry as the NWA.
Fightful Select have spoken to Aldis recently and Aldis shared that he took a pay cut during the pandemic to help the company.
The NWA saw massive turnover in roster since 2020 ahead of the pandemic. A few names have returned and the company was able to pick up Kylie Rae last Summer, a shot in the arm after many stars saw their deals expire with NWA during the pandemic. However, in the midst of the Nick Aldis-Billy Corgan media feud, Aldis noted that he accepted less money at one point to help NWA, which we confirmed. We’re told that there were initial pay cuts given to talent as a result of the pandemic changing things, and that Nick Aldis particularly took less money than his contract stipulated to help alleviate that, which Aldis had mentioned in an interview recently.. NWA and Billy Corgan picked up an option year on Nick Aldis’ contract for 2021 and extended his deal for 2022.
