Triple H clearly doesn’t feel like AEW achieved much by defeating NXT in the Wednesday night war.
When AEW first came onto the air, NXT was in the same time slot on the same night. AEW would defeat NXT after a short war where NXT would hold the advantage until AEW came into their own as a promotion.
Triple H as interviewed by Ariel Helwani prior to WWE Clash At The Castle and he commented on the matter.
People put so much pressure on this competitive war, it never was that. Look first of all, they beat our developmental system, good for them.

Triple H has previously said in the past that NXT is not developmental and is actually WWE’s third brand.
