Ciryl Gane on a Fight vs. Curtis Blaydes: “He doesn’t have a big name, he doesn’t have hype”

Coming off a win last weekend, Ciryl Gane assured that his next fight will not be against Curtis Blaydes anytime soon.

During his appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, Gane had this to say about any future plans for a fight, but especially about Blaydes call out to be next for Gane.

Blaydes is on a 3-fight win streak over Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Chris Daukaus and Tom Aspinall. A fight vs. Blaydes for Gane would be dangerous when he is currently trying to get back into the Heavyweight title picture.

Gane bounced back from his Heavyweight title challenge vs. current champion Francis Ngannou when he defeated Tai Tuivasa in Paris last weekend by KO in the 3rd round.

Gane does not see Blaydes as a heavyweight with a big name, he did acknowledge that Blaydes is dangerous. But because of him not being the current champion, the hype isn’t there and a fight would only happen if everything was right to make.
