Daniel Rodriguez sees himself as “Los Angeles version” of Nate Diaz

48 hours before he is set to fight the “Trailblazer”, Daniel Rodriguez had this to say about one half of the UFC 279 main event.

Rodriguez is back on PPV for the first time since UFC 255 in 2020 where he was unsuccessful against Nicholas Dalby by unanimous decision.

Since then he has racked a 3-win streak over the likes of Mike Perry, Preston Parsons and former UFC lightweight title challenger Kevin Lee.

During UFC media day, while reflecting on the impact Nate Diaz has had on fighters both past, present and upcoming, this is what Rodriguez had to say about the Stockton-born legend.

Rodriguez is set to face off against Kevin Holland, in a catchweight (180lbs) bout. Holland has finished his last two opponents, both Alex Oliveira and Tim Means in the 2nd-round since returning to the welterweight division.
