Update On Kenny Omega’s Visible Bite Mark
Kenny Omega is wearing his bite mark well.
As everyone knows now, Kenny Omega was bitten by Ace Steel in the now infamous “Brawl Out” incident following AEW All Out 2022. Following the incident, CM Punk, Ace Steel, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and a slue of producers were suspended. But, Kenny Omega still went with a few other AEW talent to Japan for a video game convention as apart of THQ Nordic’s booth for the AEW Fight Forever video game. During the trip to Japan, Kenny Omega met up with fellow pro wrestler, Kota Ibushi, where they did some video content for Capcom. During the video, fans noticed a visible bite mark on Kenny Omega’s arm. Now, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has some updates on the bite mark and when the video was made. You can read the full report below.
Kenny Omega has been on a previously scheduled trip to Japan following his AEW suspension, and some of his battle scars were shown off on social media. On Sunday, September 18, a Capcom video was published, highlighting the bite mark as a result of Ace Steel from the Brawl Out situation. We’ve learned that video was actually filmed almost a week prior, so the wound would have been as of a week after the bite itself. When going back to look at the photos Kota Ibushi posted with Omega, you could also see the bite on his left forearm. Those that we’ve spoken to that saw Omega in Japan, said that the bite was “unmistakable.” He wasn’t prominently featuring his left forearm in many pictures or videos during the first week of his Japan trip. Another source who was around the backstage area after Brawl Out said that it looked “disgusting” after it happened, and Omega was very verbal in indicating he’d been bitten. Both sides of the story we heard from included Omega being bitten, with one neutral party saying there was no way around admitting that much happened considering the visible evidence. As mentioned on Select this week, Omega was always scheduled to miss the September 14 Dynamite to go on the trip. Despite being at Capcom, we can confirm that Kenny Omega has not turned into a zombie and was not in any Resident Evil-related danger.
