Rafael Dos Anjos plans to move back up to welterweight in his next fight
The former UFC Lightweight champion is planning his next move to be back at 175lbs.
In a tweet posted by Carlos Antunes, Rafael Dos Anjos told him in an interview that’ll airs tonight that he is planning to move back up to welterweight in his next fight for the UFC.
Dos Anjos last 3 fights have been in the lightweight division where he was successful against Paul Felder and Renato Moicano before losing by KO to Rafael Fiziev this past July.
RDA moved to the welterweight division back in 2017 where he defeated Tarec Saffiedine, Neil Magny and Robbie Lawler before unsuccessfully challenging for the interim Welterweight title against Colby Covington.
A win over Kevin Lee boosted RDA into a potential title picture but losses to eventual Welterweight champion Leon Edwards and Michael Chiesa would bring RDA to dropping down to the lightweight division again.
No word yet until the interview is out on RDA’s next opponent, but it’ll be exciting to see where they go in their next journey to win UFC gold again.
