WWE Attempted To Take Away Rob Van Dam’s Signature Ring Gear
WWE were not fans of RVD’s ring gear.
The Whole Dam Show has worn various versions of his gear over the years, wrestling in a singlet with taped up hands and long boots. This gear has been a large part of RVD’s success, as many fans instantly recognized the signature gear from Van Dam.
Van Dam told a fan on Twitter that his signature airbrushed singlet was almost nixed by the company when he joined in 2001. He later retweeted a picture of himself wearing a much plainer black singlet.
Here is the singlet that RVD said WWE wanted him to wear instead. He stated that he kept it to wear for non televised house shows instead.
What do you think? Do you believe WWE were right to try and shift RVD’s gear in a different direction? Let us know in the comment section and on our social media pages.
