WWE Lose Lawsuit Over Use Of Randy Orton’s Tattoos In 2K Video Games
The longstanding lawsuit against WWE by the artist behind Randy Orton’s tattoos has reached a verdict.
In April 2018, Catherine Alexander, Randy Orton’s tattoo artist, filed a lawsuit against WWE, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc, 2K Games Inc and more developers for using her tattoo designs in their video games without her permission.
The case went to trial on September 26 and after less than four hours of deliberation, the jury ruled in favor of Alexander, noting that the tattoos did not fall under fair use.
According to PWInsider, it is not yet known what the defendants will be required to pay, nor whether the defendants will attempt to appeal the decision.
Orton is currently out with a back injury that has WWE worried about the severity of the injury.
