Latest On Major Commentary Shakeup In WWE: New Teams, An Update On Jimmy Smith And More
It looks like Triple H has decided to shake up the commentary teams on RAW, SmackDown and NXT.
Variety exclusively reported earlier today that WWE are set to change how their announce team works. The changes span all three brands. The RAW team will be made up of Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves, the SmackDown team will be Michael Cole and Wade Barrett with Pat McAfee rejoining the team in January. The NXT team will be bringing in Booker T along with Vic Joseph.
Kayla Braxton will handle interviews for SmackDown while the returning Cathy Kelley and Byron Saxton will handle RAW’s interview segments. Megan Morant will take the duty on NXT.
One name noticeably absent is former lead commentator of Monday Night RAW, Jimmy Smith. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported in a tweet that WWE reps had confirmed to Fightful that Smith was done with the company.
