Reason Why Sammy Guevara Was Not Punished For Brawl With Andrade
It looks like we have further confirmation on the events that occurred backstage prior to this week’s AEW Dynamite.
Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo got into the scuffle backstage prior to the live taping in Washington. After, Andrade would be sent home but Guevara remained, competing and scoring the win for his team in the main event of the show.
Dave Meltzer reports why Guevara wasn’t sent home in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The version of the story we heard by someone I would personally trust the most in a situation like this is that the altercation was that Andrade attacked Guevara with no warning, landed two punches and it was quickly broken up. Guevara wasn’t injured at all, as he had no marks on his face and wrestled in the main event later that night. He was not punished because he was attacked and didn’t fight back, but it was broken up immediately.

Time will tell what kind of punishment Andrade will receive, but for now it seems Guevara will not be punished for the incident.
