IMPACT Wrestling 10/13 Review; Contenders Line up, Kazarian Exercises in Option C, Tag Title Match Set For Next Week, and More

BTI (Before The Impact) pre show –
Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) vs Raj Singh & Mahabali Shera

The Machine Guns make quick work of Shera and Raj, with Chris Sabin hitting Raj with the Cradle Shock and then obtained the pinfall for the victory

IMPACTonAXSTV episode –

IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Josh Alexanders kicks off the show by making his way to the ring. Josh talks defending his title against Eddie at Bound for Glory, says that while Eddie was a great opponent, Josh is and was the better wrestler that night.

Josh also acknowledged Bully Ray and called him out. Bully Ray makes his way out to the ring. Josh wonders why he didn’t cash in his Call Your Shot trophy last week after the World Title match at Bound for Glory like Moose did last year.

Bully says he wants to call his shot and win the title, but he wants to do it the right way this time. Josh seems skeptical, but before he gets a chance to say anything, Maclin makes his way out with a microphone.

Maclin is out and says that Josh shouldn’t trust Bully to do things “the right way”, talks about how he should be a contender after beating Moose and Sami in the Barbed Wire Massacre match at Victory Road a few weeks ago, and then coming second to last in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match.

Maclin gets interrupted by Moose, who tells Maclin to shut up because hes in the presence of the current and former World Champions, so Maclin was out of his element. Moose calls Bully Ray a scumbag and says Josh shouldn’t trust him either.

Bobby Fish interrupts Moose and makes his way out to the ring. He mentions backstage politics and says he doesn’t play those games or does things that way.  Bobby said he’s been a controversial guy sometimes, but hes very good at what he does. Bobby lays out a challenge to Josh for the World Title. After a moment, Josh accepts. The match is booked for tonight’s Main Event.

The camera goes backstage to Gia Miller standing by with the Motor City Machine Guns. They admit that they fell short at Bound for Glory, but want a rematch with OGK for another shot at the Tag titles. They both walk away and start looking for Scott D’Amore’s office. When they get outside the door, they run into Heath and Rhino. They ask why those guys are there, and they explain that they just left Scott’s office and have themselves a Tag Title shot for next week. Heath says that they promised to be Tag Team champions by the end of the year, and they’re going to fulfill that promise. He also says that the Motor City Machine Guns do deserve a shot, but it won’t be against OGK this time.

No DQ Match –
Killer Kelly vs. Tasha Steelz w/Savannah Evans

Savannah & Tasha double team Kelly on the outside.

Savannah Evans grabs a steel chain again and tries to use it on Kelly (the chain was a callback to Victory Road appeared at Victory Road).

Killer Kelly ends up with the chain and then puts Tasha in the Killer Klutch while also choking her with the chain. Tasha taps and Killer Kelly wins the match.

We go backstage to Johnny Swinger & Zicky Dice talking about how well they think they did in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound for Glory last week. Dirty Dango walks up and makes fun of Swinger’s fashion/clothing. The scene was interrupted by some random people in yellow hooded sweatshirts shouting “I AM VIOLENCE” and brawling with Sami Callihan. Sami beat them down.

Another backstage segment, Scott approaches Josh and congratulates him on his victory over Eddie Edwards at Bound for Glory. Scott warns Josh about Bully Ray, and tells him to be weary of the situation; Scott says he brought Bully into the company in 2005 and Bully has stabbed everybody in the back.

6 Way X Division Match
Trey Miguel vs. Black Taurus (w/Crazzy Steve) vs. Alex Zayne vs. Yuya Uemura vs Laredo Kid vs. Kenny King

Some good spots throughout the match.

Trey hits Alex Zayne with a Scorpion Kick into a Lightning Spiral. Trey wins the match.

The cameras go to the parking lot with Kaz walking into the building. Hes approached by Speedball Mike Bailey, who says that Kaz was the better man at Bound for Glory, but that he respects him and he’ll be ready for him next time. Trey Miguel walks up and says both men had a great match at Bound for Glory, but says while they’ve been down here, he was just upstairs winning a huge X Division match against 5 other competitors. Kaz complimented both men, but says they’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Next, we go back to the ring for another match.

VXT & Gisele Shaw vs. IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champions, Death Dollz

Rosemary tries to bite Deonna’s face off.

After a short match with a few good spots, Gisele Shaw hits Rosemary with the Knee Strike to the back.

Shaw rolls Rosemary over and covers her for the pin and the victory.

Bully Ray is backstage at his locker when Tommy Dreamer walks up. He says he trusts Bully, but that he better not let him down and do things the right way like he claims. Dreamer mentions wanting to tag with Bully Ray again.

We go backstage again to Honor No More, without Eddie Edwards, talking about how they haven’t seen him since he lost his match, wondering where he’s been, and then defending the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team titles next week against Heath & Rhino.

Matt Cardona vs. Bhupinder Gujjar

The match didn’t last long, and it ended when IMPACT Wrestling Digital Media Champion Brian Myers came out to the ramp and distracted Bhupinder Gujjar. Gujjar got some good offense in.

He revealed the shirt he was wearing, which said MAJOR PLAYERS on it. While Gujjar is distracted, Cardona hits the Radio Silence on Gujjar and picks up the victory.

We go backstage (again) to Bullet Club members Ace Austin, Chris Bey, and Juice Robinson. They mentioned hearing Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray talking about tag teaming, and so they said if that’s the case they should take on the best team in the company, “Ace of Bey.”

Gia Miller is backstage with Mickie James. Mickie talks about defeating Mia Yim at Bound for Glory and that she’s still on the “Last Rodeo” journey. Mickie talks about how she respects most of the IMPACT Wrestling knockouts roster. Deonna, Chelsea, and Shaw all walk up. Deonna said she’s so sick of Mickie talking about “respecting everybody”, and that she should take on some real competition. Chelsea mentions that the last time they fought, she defeated Mickie and then Mickie packed her bags and went home. Mickie challenges Chelsea to a match, to which Chelsea backs off and says they’re too busy. The trio walks away.

MAIN EVENT
IMPACT World Title – Josh Alexander vs. Bobby Fish

Great back and forth for about 10 minutes.

Match ends when Josh hits Fish with a backbreaker and then follows it up with a C4 Spike. Josh hooks the leg and covers Fish for the victory.

After the match ends, Kazarian comes out with his IMPACT X Division title. Kazarian says that he’s never won the IMPACT World Title throughout his career, and that’s what he wants a shot at. He says he’s exercising Option C.

  • (Option C is a custom option for any X Division Champion where they can relinquish the title and automatically gain an IMPACT World Title shot.)*
