Konnan Says Legal Issues Kept Kenny Omega From Sending Video To AAA Triplemania XXX
Nevermind wrestling, Kenny Omega couldn’t even send in a video to AAA’s Triplemania XXX.
On Saturday, October 15, AAA presented Triplemania XXX which featured a Mega Championship Match between Hijo Del Vikingo and Rey Fénix. Speaking on his Keeping It 100 podcast, Konnan revealed that Kenny Omega, the number one contender for the belt, told him that he could not send in a video for the event due to legal issues.
“I know there are some legal issues because I actually asked Kenny Omega if he could send me a video for Triplemania, whoever wins between Vikingo and Fenix because, you know, he’s the number one contender, and he goes, ‘I still can’t because of legal issues.’ So, there is something legal going on,” Konnan said.
Omega was involved in a backstage altercation following AEW All Out 2022, which resulted in him, CM Punk, The Young Bucks, and others being suspended. That suspension also prevents said competitors from wrestling for other promotions. Omega and The Young Bucks won the AEW Trios Titles at All Out but were forced to vacate the belts less than three days later.
As for Konnan, at Triplemania he was named AAA’s Head of Talent Relations.
