IMPACT Wrestling and AAA Star Laredo Kid Provides Injury Update
The Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide star suffered an injury during his mach against El Hijo del Vikingo in Monterrey on October 23, and he had emergency surgery. After spending nine days in the hospital, Laredo Kid spoke publicly for the first time in an interview with the Laredo Morning Times.
The outlet noted that Laredo Kid’s representatives said he was unable to speak for days after the injury. In the interview, he commented on the situation and called it the toughest battle he has ever fought.
“As I ended my fight with Vikingo, I had to be transported to San Vicente Hospital immediately and had to receive emergency surgery, as one of my intestines have become ruptured during the fight. It has been the toughest battle I have ever fought in my career and life,” Laredo Kid said.
He stated that the injury was life-threatening, and he was hospitalized for over a week. The fan-favorite star also announced that he is back home, and he thanked everyone for their support. He also expressed his gratitude to AAA.
“After being hospitalized for nine days and fighting for my life, I want to tell everybody that I am back,” Laredo Kid said. “I am back at my house with my family and my children, and it is thanks to all of you — and all of my Laredo fanaticos — that I am better, because you all sent your well wishes, vibes and prayers. I really want to thank you all for always wanting to stay updated about my condition, and I especially want to thank my company Lucha Libre AAA that was always looking as to how I was doing,” Laredo Kid said.
Moving forward, Laredo Kid noted that he has a long way to go with his recovery, but he’s focused on healing up and returning to the ring. He asked fans for their support in his journey so that they can see him compete again.
“There is still a lot of trajectory, and the journey still continues for Laredo Kid in efforts to be fully recuperated. I do expect to count with all of the support from all of you and my Laredo fanaticos, so you guys can see the eagle of the Rio Bravo back in action,” he said,

Laredo Kid most recently competed with IMPACT Wrestling as part of the X Division Title tournament as part of the BTI (Before The Impact) series against fellow luchador Black Taurus. Kid fell short as Taurus won the match and advanced to the next round of the tournament.
Laredo Kid was scheduled to participate in the Nov 6 PWG (Pro Wrestling Guerilla) event, but obviously is still recovering from the injury.
Myself and the staff at Bodyslam.Net wish Laredo Kid a speedy recovery!
