FTR will appear at New Japan’s annual headline event.
On today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Wrestle Kingdom 17 will include AEW’s FTR, the current IWGP Tag Team Champions. Moreover, the winner of the NJPW World Tag League competition will compete for the IWGP Tag Team Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
“FTR is going to be at the Tokyo Dome. I got that confirmed. Defending the Championships.“

On NJPW’s Battle Autumn card last Saturday, FTR recently defended the championships against Jeff Cobb and Great O Khan. They have been the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions since winning the titles at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in June. Time will tell who their opponents will be when they arrive at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
