Rey Mysterio Reportedly Dealing With A Short Term Injury
Rey Mysterio is currently on the shelf with a short term injury.
Rey Mysterio was moved over to SmackDown, so he could avoid squaring off against his son, Dominik Mysterio. Then Mr. 6-1-9 wasn’t on the show this week, despite originally being one of the competitors in the SmackDown World Cup.
Ringside News asked around about Mysterio’s status and they have reportedly found out that Mysterio is dealing with a short term injury.
We were told that he was backstage at SmackDown this week, but he was not used.
A tenured member of the backstage team on the blue brand told us that Rey Mysterio was backstage, but he was in a walking boot. It was noted that this is a short-term injury.
It was not confirmed exactly what type of injury Rey Mysterio is suffering from. It obviously isn’t a tremendously terrible situation, because he was able to make it to SmackDown this week.

Rey most recently wrestled on WWE TV when he challenged GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship two weeks ago on SmackDown.
