KAIRI Wins IWGP Women’s Championship At NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over

At NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over, KAIRI defeated Mayu Iwatani in the main event of the show in order to become the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion.

Kairi showed respect to Iwatani after the match. She said she would defend the title at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, but it was not made clear against whom. Regardless, we will have to see how she will be booked as the champion.

KAIRI made herself quite a draw with her run in WWE prior to leaving for STARDOM. She won the NXT and Women’s Tag Team Championships in the WWE but could never win singles gold on the main roster despite a lot of support from fans.
