Road Dogg Reveals WWE Re-Hired Him As His Severance Pay Was Ending

Road Dogg was hired back to WWE right as they were about to stop paying him.

Speaking to Military News, Road Dogg spoke about WWE hiring him back after releasing him earlier this year. He also called it “divine intervention” and mentioned he was not expecting it to happen.

It turns out that WWE was taking care of Road Dogg with a severance package. Luck would have it that Road Dogg didn’t have to figure out what to do when that money ran out, because WWE re-hired him.

“I was released in January 2022 and I had nine months of severance pay because I was a full time employee for a decade. Literally the month the severance pay was due to end, Paul (Levesque, Chief Content Officer for WWE) or Hunter as most people know him, called me and asked me if I wanted to come back. It was incredible and that’s why I say it was divine intervention. I do believe it was God looking out for me even when I was worried and was not being faithful. At the same time, I was thinking, the right thing will happen. I was praying and believing. And it did happen, it was not what I was expecting.”

Road Dogg to Military News

Road Dogg was one of the people that Triple H rehired once he took over creative control of the company. Road Dogg plays a vital role in WWE’s creative process but continues to draw the ire of some fans with his comments on social media and his podcast.
