Ric Flair Says Ronda Rousey’s Opponents Need To “Carry Their Weight”
Ric Flair believes Ronda Rousey’s opponents need to step up.
Ronda Rousey’s involvement in WWE is a polarizing topic for many fans. Recently, she went one on one with Shotzi at Survivor Series, with many panning the match, with a DDT spot on the apron being discussed by many fans after the match.
Ric Flair however, believes the responsibility does not fall on Rousey for this performance. On Flair’s To Be The Man podcast, Flair began by saying that fans need to take into account who her opponents are when they criticize her, seemingly deflecting the blame onto Shotzi.
“I think Ronda is fabulous. Who doesn’t like her again? I have to agree; I like Ronda personally. I think, you know, sometimes the need to look at who she is wrestling against, you know what I mean? You’re not going to get the same match out of Ronda every time. The opponent’s got to be able to carry their weight too,” said Ric Flair

Ric recently mentioned that he felt Sasha Banks and his daughter Charlotte are so good that he believes they would be better than 95% of the current WWE women’s roster even at 100 years of age.
