William Regal Had An Out In His AEW Contract
William Regal allegedly had an out in his AEW contract.
Dave Meltzer stated why it is “basically a given” that Regal will return to his former promotion in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The general idea is that he had a short-term deal with an out clause.
Multiple WWE sources said Regal had an out clause in his contract. Actually, the returning to WWE is basically a given at this point, whether it was a short-term deal or Tony Khan let him out of his deal out of respect for him. There are many other versions going around wrestling as to what happened but the short-term deal is the primary source story.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter
An out clause is a stipulation in an underwriting agreement that permits the contract to be cancelled without penalty. William Regal’s return to WWE is a very interesting idea at this time, regardless of whether his AEW agreement was a short-term deal or Tony Khan let him out of his contract out of respect for him. Time will tell if Regal will return to WWE under Triple H.
