Reports of William Regal’s AEW exit took the pro wrestling world by surprise. Claudio Castagnoli, who was mentored by Regal as part of their Blackpool Combat Club storyline, reacted to the reports as well.
The former Ring of Honor World Champion commented on Regal’s departure from AEW while speaking with Joey Hayden of Dallas Morning News.
“I mean, I guess we have to … we have to wait and see. You know, we’re still talking, I think we have to have a little group meeting to figure out what’s next, or if there’s a next. So yeah, I’ll leave it at that.”

The Englishman is expected to join WWE in a backstage role after New Year. Time will tell what will come of the Blackpool Combat Club now that Regal has left AEW.
