TJ Dillashaw not released by the UFC or retiring, will focus on spending time with family and recovering from injuries

The former 2x UFC Bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw is reportedly not hanging up the gloves.

The news was first reported by Michael Wonsover, it would later be reported by Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie that Dillashaw’s team says he is not retired and has not been removed from the UFC roster despite UFC Roster Watch tweeting that Dillashaw has been removed.

Aaron Bronsteter would get a confirmation from a UFC official that Dillashaw is not released nor retiring from the sport of MMA. Dillashaw wants to focus on family time, recovering from his injuries and will be taking a prolonged absence as a result.

Dillashaw last competed at UFC 280 where he lost in the 2nd round to UFC Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling by TKO/KO, he popped his shoulder out of its socket during the fight and later said in the post-fight interview that he had been dealing with the injury for the entire duration of his camp and didn’t want to pull out despite knowing the consequences.
