Carmelo Hayes Makes It Clear That He Wants To Beat Bron Breakker For The NXT Championship

Carmelo Hayes is looking to be the A Champion once again.

This Saturday at NXT Deadline, Carmelo Hayes is competing in the Iron Survivor Match. The winner of said match will get a shot at the NXT Championship, currently held by Bron Breakker. Carmelo has long called himself the A Champion when he was North American Champion and even after. Now, he sat down with WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda to talk about possibly becoming the actual A Champion.

Right, right, yeah, I just mentioned that, earlier in the day, that I’ve claimed that I’m the A Champion for a year and a half. I feel like it’s poetic justice for me to get that title and truly prove that I am the A Champion of NXT. I’ve carried myself like that anyway, didn’t matter what title I had, but I do think that it’s only right that I do do that. And I want it to be against Bron, I’m actually, I’m rooting for Bron to retain. I just feel like this whole 1A 1B conversation needs to be put to rest wherever whenever and that NXT Championship is in my destiny, for real, it is.

He reiterated that he wants Bron to be the one he beats for the title.

Yeah, I wanna beat Bron Breakke. I love Apollo, good luck Apollo, but I wanna beat Bron Breakker.

While Carmelo is fighting for the number one contenders spot at NXT Deadline, Bron Breakker will be defending his NXT Championship against Apollo Crews.
