John Cena’s Upcoming SmackDown Match Marks Huge Milestone
The GOAT is back.
John Cena is set to compete on the December 30th edition of SmackDown as revealed on Friday’s show when he teams with Kevin Owens to battle Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns. As noted last night, this is John Cena’s first WWE match in the year 2022 and he did it with only 2 days to spare in the year. John has kept up an incredible streak that was almost broken, but now will continue on. Since debuting in 2002, John Cena has wrestled on WWE Television every single year and now his Smackdown match will mark 20 consecutive years having a match on WWE TV.
We last saw John Cena appear on Monday Night RAW back in June, but he didn’t wrestle. Cena last wrestled at the 2021 SummerSlam event where he lost to Roman Reigns in a Universal Championship match. Now, John Cena has a chance to avenge that loss in Tag Team action.
