Major Changes Made To The WWE Wellness Policy
It appears WWE have made some large changes to their Wellness Policy.
For those unaware, WWE superstars are subject to a wellness policy that prohibits them from taking certain substances. Due to this, superstars submit drug tests and should they fail for a banned substance – it usually results in suspension.
Dave Meltzer revealed on the Wrestling Observer forums that due to AEW being a possible home for fired talent, the wellness policy has been changed. Now, it is unclear how many infractions of the policy will lead to a WWE star being released from their contract. Prior, it was a given that three infractions would lead to a release from the promotion.
Matt Riddle recently failed two drug tests from WWE, which was the catalyst for Meltzer’s explanation on the Wellness Policy subject. We will have to wait and see how WWE decides to punish the next star to have three violations of the WWE wellness policy.
