Jamie Hayter is on fire.
This past Wednesday, Jamie Hayter made her first defense of the AEW Women’s Championship against Hikaru Shida in a killer main event. She previously won the title against Toni Storm, in what was also a great championship match. Hayter has been getting unanimous praise from fans world wide and that’s seemingly the same sentiment in AEW, too. Fightful Select reported on the backstage reaction for h Jamie Hayter’s reign this far and it’s a positive one. Plus, it was noted that BJ Whitmer produced the match on Wednesday.
Jamie Hayter and Hikaru Shida had a killer AEW main event on Dynamite on December 21, and we’ve learned more about who helped out with the match.
On this week’s Ask Grapsody, Will Washington revealed that ROH veteran BJ Whitmer produced the Shida vs. Hayter match. In addition, he produced the positively received Toni Storm vs. Jamie Hayter match from AEW Full Gear. Whitmer has received consistent praise from talent that we’ve spoken to backstage, but Willow Nightingale also credited Whitmer on the record during her recent interview with Grapsody.
Fightful has heard unanimous positive reception backstage, not just about the main event itself, but Jamie Hayter’s title reign in general. In addition, we’ve heard a lot of praise about the act surrounding her, with Britt Baker and Rebel also getting a lot of credit for seamlessly transitioning into the spots they’re in.
