Jimmy Jacobs Didn’t Expect Seth Rollins To Be A Star In WWE

Seth Rollins signed with WWE in 2010 and became a top prospect in WWE’s developmental brand, NXT, reigning as the territory’s first-ever World champion. He, alongside Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, came up to the main roster in 2012 as a member of the faction “The Shield.” The trio achieved immense success before Rollins decided to break up the group and all three went their separate ways to become main event singles stars.

Rollins has been recognized for his exceptional in-ring work, mic skills, and ability to reinvent his entire personality during various stages of his career. Despite his incredible talent, former WWE writer Jimmy Jacobs did not perceive a young Seth Rollins to become a big star in the future. He spoke about this during an appearance on “The Insiders” podcast.

“I didn’t see him being as big of a star as he became. Gabe [Sapolsky] did. It wasn’t how obvious a star that anybody was going to be at that time, because that gap of independents and WWE was still strong in 2007.”

The former Architect of the Shield has emerged to become one of the marquee attractions of this generation. He was lately currently in a feud with Austin Theory on RAW over the WWE United States championship, which he lost to Theory at Survivor Series in a triple threat match featuring Bobby Lashley as well.
