JBL’s Backstage Behavior Changed After Joey Styles Knocked Him Out And “Embarrassed Him”
While JBL is a WWE Hall Of Famer and generally well respected in the wrestling community, he does have a reputation for being somewhat of a bully backstage. This is both true of his in ring runs as well as his commentary career, where multiple incidents occurred due to JBL’s hazing and antagonizing. One such incident involved former ECW announcer Joey Styles knocking JBL out cold.
Former WWE superstar René Duprée recently revealed on the latest episode of Café de René, if JBL did mend his ways after the incident and the locker room had a change of perception towards him.
“Okay, I wasn’t there but from what I heard he would just sit in a corner on his laptop, wouldn’t talk to nobody. Yeah, he got f*cking embarrassed like a motherf*cker. Jesus, when I heard that story I was like, I felt like, ‘Wow, you got put in your place,’ you know,”

Obviously this did not last, as JBL has more recently been accused of bullying former WWE announcer Mauro Ranallo with similar hazing.
