The Usos Were Once Told They Looked Too Similar To Roman Reigns: “We’re In The Same Gene Pool Uce!”

Roman Reigns and The Usos have embraced their Anoa’i family ties over the past couple of years and fans respect them for that. The Usos debuted back in 2010 as heels, but they were not booked well for a very long time after that.

In September 2016, Jimmy and Jey Uso turned heel for the first time in five years and adopted a huge change in appearance. This included them removing their face paints, which meant they looked similar to Roman Reigns. While speaking on Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast, Jey Uso revealed that WWE officials told him and his brother that they looked too similar to The Head Of The Table.

“Obviously, for the heel change, we needed to change everything, but they were saying when they had first seen us working in all black, it was like, ‘You guys look too much like Roman. Don’t look like Roman.’ Man, who the hell else are we supposed to look like? We’re in the same gene pool, uce.”

2022 will go down as one of the greatest years in The Usos’ career and they will be heading into 2023 with a world of momentum behind them.
