WWE’s Deal With NJPW Regarding Karl Anderson Was “A Stressful Situation”
Karl Anderson’s situation with NJPW and WWE has been a shaky one at the best of times since he was double booked earlier this year by both companies.
Rocky Romero has since informed Fightful Select that the Karl Anderson-WWE-NJPW situation was shaky and stressful throughout. It was reported that Anderson planned a way for him to work NJPW Wrestle Kingdom from the point he signed with WWE and was thankful to the company for making it happen.
Romero also mentioned that he isn’t aware if WWE has asked for anything in return to allow Anderson to work Wrestle Kingdom despite being under contract with them. He also noted that if WWE ever wanted to honor Antonio Inoki, NJPW would likely oblige. He further stated that anything’s possible when asked about the possibility of WWE working with NJPW in the future.
Karl Anderson is set to defend his IWGP Never Openweight Champion against Tama Tonga this week at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17.
