Ricky Starks has been on fire since winning the AEW World Title eliminator tournament and while Starks would not come away the victor when he challenged MJF for the AEW World Title at Winter Is Coming, he will be facing Chris Jericho on tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
Speaking to Sports Guys Talk Wrestling, AEW President Tony Khan would comment on how Ricky has become such a big star for the promotion.
“Ricky Starks has come so far in just a few years with AEW. As the company has grown, Ricky Starks has come a really long way since he debuted. He’s become a very popular wrestler, he was a real rule breaker when he arrived in AEW, but the fans have really taken to Ricky Starks. He’s so charismatic, he’s a great wrestler, and the fans really like him. Ricky Starks has a great future in AEW, and what a great match it was at Winter is Coming when he challenged MJF for the World Championship, and I expect a lot of bright things to come for Ricky Starks“

Starks was set for his match with Jericho a few weeks ago, when Jericho would interrupt a Starks promo. After a brief back and forth, the two would agree to a match together for tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
