Zack Sabre Jr. battled Ren Narita for the NJPW TV Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 and the winner will not only be the new champion, but the first champion as the title is brand new. Zack Sabre Jr ended up picking up the win and is now the TV Champion. But, following the match, Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls, known as TMDK approached the ring with a shirt and asked Sabre Jr to join TMDK. Zack teased throwing down the shirt, but was just kidding and out the shirt on, officially joining the group.
