Dusty Rhodes Once Fired Enzo Amore For Joking Around In Promo Class

Triple H was in charge of WWE NXT when the late Dusty Rhodes once fired Enzo Amore. The two-time Cruiserweight Champion never had any knowledge about the firing at the time. Rhodes, who passed away in 2015, helped students with their speaking and mic skills.

Enzo Amore once put his hand up to offer feedback following Baron Corbin’s promo. Dusty Rhodes was under the impression that Amore would share his valuable advice. However, Amore was only joking around and farted during the promo class.

On the Monte & The Pharaoh LI#1 Pro Wrestling Broadcast, Enzo Amore recalled the incident and how he was fired and rehired the next day after being fined $250. Although The Real One got his job back, Dusty Rhodes still gave him the silent treatment for a while.

“I showed up to work the next day. What I did not know is literally Dusty Rhodes called Triple H that night and got me fired. When I showed up to work, Dusty Rhodes called Triple H back up and said, ‘Nah, I’m not gonna fire him.’ Then Dusty didn’t talk to me for like two weeks.”

“I think I got jobbed out on TV, then lost and wasn’t on a pay-per-view or something, and I didn’t even realize that’s why. I don’t even put two and two together. I look at the card, I’m like, ‘Oh, we’re not booked today, Cass,’ and Cass knows, like, ‘You motherf****r!’ It doesn’t even register with me, bro!

Enzo Amore to Monte & The Pharoh

Enzo Amore revealed that some of his NXT colleagues resented him several years later over that particular incident. Amore’s WWE exit also brought the downfall of Big Cass who quit in 2018. It appears that the joke had backfired for Amore as he never got the chance to issue a formal apology.
