The Briscoes Turned Down A Low Money Deal With WWE

The Briscoes were almost signed by WWE at one point, but money disagreements broke down the negotiations.

The Briscoes were never part of WWE television, and fans always found that puzzling. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE was interested in signing The Briscoes back in 2015. However, due to the fact that the pay was quite low, the brothers turned down the offer.

WWE at the time was very interested in the Briscoes, and rescinded that interest. There was a time in 2015 when WWE offered them a spot, but the money figure was low enough that they didn’t take it considering it would take them away from working at their family’s chicken ranch.

Jay Briscoe passed away on Tuesday evening after a fatal car accident near his home in Laurel, Delaware. One other person was killed in the collision, and two others were injured. It was later confirmed by Briscoe’s wife that the couple’s two daughters were involved in the accident.

The Briscoes’ hard work, dedication, and in-ring chemistry led to numerous championship wins and accolades, solidifying their legacy as true wrestling greats. Sadly, they never ventured to WWE.
