Vince McMahon Had Plans For Bryan Danielson To Lose WWE World Titles At SummerSlam 2014 In A Squash Match
Kofi Kingston had the entire WWE Universe behind him on the road to Kofimania, an event where he did win the WWE Title, but then he lost the belt in a squash match to Brock Lesnar during the first episode of SmackDown on FOX. It turns out that was the original idea Vince McMahon had for Bryan Danielson.
Bryan Danielson won the WWE Title at WrestleMania XXX, an event that saw him compete twice that night. In the end, Danielson dropped his title due to injury. While discussing WWE’s current situation with Sami Zayn on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that Kofi’s fate with Lesnar was actually meant for Danielson.
Even if they give the title to Sami Zayn, well I shouldn’t say that, because this is Vince. If this was Vince, and he saw this reaction, and he goes, ‘oh we gotta give it to him,’ and he’s already planning on beating him in 8 seconds at SummerSlam. You know, cause that’s what Vince did with Danielson, or that’s what he was gonna do, but he got hurt first. With Kofi, that’s what he did.
If Zayn goes in there, then Brock Lesnar or Bobby Lashley will kill him at SummerSlam. That’s where we’re probably different, because Triple H might not do it that way.
Dave Meltzer
Triple H’s booking style is much different from Vince McMahon’s, so it is hard to tell what he will do. Vince McMahon certainly had his own style of booking, so it got a little easier to guess what he would decide in terms of booking.
