Mike Tenay Turned Down Offer To Return To Wrestling Commentary
Tenay, who was known as the voice of TNA, performed commentary for the company until his departure in 2016. Since then, he hasn’t performed commentary for any other promotion.
According to Mike Johnson of PW Insider, Mike Tenay made the decision to retire from professional wrestling after his contract expired in 2016. It was also further reported that one unnamed independent promotion offered Tenay a gig at a past WrestleMania weekend, only for him to turn it down.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentioned that Tenay was approached to perform commentary for All In, in 2018, but he refused that offer as well.
As of writing this article, Tenay’s final call of his legendary wrestling career has been the TNA Slammiversary PPV that saw Jeff Jarrett become the King of the Mountain Champion.
