Forbidden Door 2 Is Currently In The Works
AEW held their Forbidden Door pay-per-view last year, and it was certainly a resounding success. It was a financial success and also featured several excellent matches, from the top to the bottom of the card.
While speaking on the In The Kliq podcast, AEW President Tony Khan talked about the Forbidden Door Crossover event and confirmed that the second iteration of the event is already in the works.
“We always build up this big event, AEW and NJPW coming together for Forbidden Door. I think Forbidden Door 1 was such a big success, we’re looking forward to doing it together again. They send a lot of their top stars to AEW and to ROH and I love working with them. It’s been a great relationship and there’s a lot of trust between the parties.”

The event drew a gate of over $1 million and registered over $5 million from pay-per-view buys. Therefore, having the second Forbidden Door Crossover event was nothing unexpected.
