WWE has a lot of things going at once on the road to WrestleMania. Becky Lynch and Lita surprised fans when they challenged Dakota Kai and IYO Sky for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles next week. That was not the original plan.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Trish Stratus was at RAW this week, and they planned for her to appear on RAW. The Ding Dong Hello segment was going to see her return to WWE television in Canada, but she left before that segment even started.
Trish Stratus was set to return during the Ding Dong Hello segment with Bayley, but it didn’t end up happening. Instead, Lita and Becky Lynch showed up and made a challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Details are few so far, but it was confirmed to us that Trish Stratus was the original plan. In fact, Trish Stratus physically was at the show in Ottawa, but left before the segment happened. When we asked what ended up happening, we were simply told a “creative change,” which we’ll dig more about.

We will have to see what happens as WWE continues down the road to WrestleMania. Lita and Bayley have a big title match next week, so it’s very possible that Trish Stratus could return then.
