Mick Foley Says Vince McMahon Would Do Anything For A Pop
Vince McMahon’s name is often associated with controversy in the world of professional wrestling. While some fans may find him eccentric and hard to comprehend, there’s no denying that his approach to the industry is shrewd and deliberate. Moreover, McMahon’s involvement in the more peculiar aspects of wrestling is a constant source of intrigue and fascination.
While speaking on his podcast Foley Is Pod, WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley shared an anecdote about a segment in which he was required to insult Stephanie McMahon, Vince’s daughter.
Foley recalls that while he had some input on how the segment would unfold, ultimately, Vince McMahon had his own vision of what Foley should say and the precise purpose behind it. Foley’s story serves as an example of McMahon’s willingness to push boundaries and use controversial storylines to elicit a reaction from the audience.
During one of those times, fireworks are going off, I’m writing down a couple of words on my hand,” Foley recalled, “and Vince comes up to me and goes ‘Hey Mick, don’t forget when you’re out there to call Stephanie a bottom-feeding trashbag hoe bucket sleaze.’ He sees the look in my eyes,” he continued, “and he goes ‘Yes?’ I said ‘Vince, that’s your daughter.’ He looks at me, chuckles, and goes ‘Ya know, Mick, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to get a pop.’”

There is truly nothing McMahon will not do in order to get the desired reaction from the WWE audience and that is unlikely to ever change.
