WWE 2023 King And Queen Of The Ring To Be Held In Saudi Arabia
It was previously reported that WWE would be bringing back both the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, for a special premium live event this May, alongside the usual Backlash pay-per-view. However, there wasn’t any additional information on the location of the tournaments.
WWE’s 2023 King and Queen of the Ring premium live event is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia this May, according to PWInsider Elite. The event is scheduled for May 27th and will be hosted alongside the usual May show Backlash.
May 27th, Memorial Day Weekend, is the same period during which AEW Double Or Nothing is traditionally held. However, Tony Khan is yet to announce a date for this year’s Double Or Nothing pay-per-view.
This wouldn’t be the first time Saudi Arabia hosted the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. The last time WWE ran the special tournaments was in 2021, with the finals for both taking place at Crown Jewel. Xavier Woods was crowned King of the Ring after defeating Finn Balor, while Zelina Vega defeated Doudrop to become Queen of the Ring, then known as the Queen’s Crown.
