WWE Locks Down Trademarks On Several Ring Names
It was previously reported that Matt Cardona tried to get the Zack Ryder name, but he failed. That didn’t stop WWE from re-upping on their trademark. The Broski’s former WWE name was a part of this recent list of trademark filings, but he wasn’t alone.
Recent filings indicate that WWE also filed trademarks for Ezekiel Jackson, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre. Interestingly enough, Jackson hasn’t wrestled a match since 2015.
We’ll have to see what happens with these trademarks in the months and years to come. WWE obviously wants to keep Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre’s names around, because they are still competing on television, but filing trademarks for Ezekiel Jackson and Zack Ryder might have different reasons behind it.
