WWE Break Record In Washington, DC

WWE presented a big show in Washington, DC this week on the road to WrestleMania. They had a packed house in DC, and it was a wild crowd as well. The company also made history in the process.

WWE’s business historically sees an increase in metrics on the road to WrestleMania. This trend has continued, with WWE’s average attendance figures and ratings on the rise since Triple H took over main roster creative last July. This was also evident during Friday’s episode of SmackDown, which sold 12,271 tickets with only 236 remaining at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reports that WWE had the highest-grossing gate for any Raw or SmackDown TV event in the city’s history this week in Washington, DC. This adds to the long list of accomplishments that the company is racking up with Triple H in control of their creative direction.

SmackDown kicked off with a highly anticipated face-to-face confrontation between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns ahead of their WrestleMania clash. Sami Zayn vs. Solo Sikoa headlined the event, and obviously fans in DC wanted to witness this first hand.
