MLW Amend Lawsuit Against WWE

MLW have amended their lawsuit against WWE.

According to reports, MLW’s amended lawsuit against WWE references their exclusion from the Peacock streaming platform, which recently acquired WWE’s streaming rights. The lawsuit alleges that WWE leveraged their dominant position in the industry to secure the exclusive streaming deal, thus furthering their monopoly on the professional wrestling market.

According to PWInsider, MLW has filed an amended lawsuit against World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), alleging that WWE’s “predatory conduct” has impeded their ability to compete and license programming to streaming services. The lawsuit cites the recent situation with REELZ and Peacock as evidence that WWE is attempting to suppress competitors, and that MLW is now at risk of losing their TV deal as a result.

In addition, MLW is claiming that WWE attempted to interfere with other promotions, including allegedly attempting to get Madison Square Garden to cancel a joint ROH/NJPW show in 2018. The amended lawsuit also includes the claim that WWE controls 92% of the wrestling sphere, with AEW controlling 6% and everyone else controlling 2%.

The amended lawsuit, which is 44 pages long, is an indication that MLW is continuing to fight against WWE’s alleged anti-competitive behavior, despite their initial lawsuit being dismissed. The outcome of this ongoing legal battle could have significant implications for the professional wrestling industry as a whole. We’ll keep you updated on this ongoing case.
