Tony Khan appeared backstage on this weeks AEW Dynamite to announce that the AEW All-Atlantic Championship is being “leveled up” in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery and the release of Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
Thus, the name was changed to the AEW International Championship. According to Fightful Select, Warner Media was happy with AEW’s cross-promotion.
We’ve heard more positive things regarding the AEW/WBD relationship in light of the Shazam partnership integration.
Khan also announced that reigning champion Orange Cassidy will defend the title against Jeff Jarrett on next week’s Dynamite when the company makes their debut in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
