The Undertaker Reveals Who WWE Wanted To Defeat The Streak Before Brock Lesnar

The Undertaker’s streak came to an end at WrestleMania 30 in 2014, where he was defeated by Brock Lesnar. That move shook the pro wrestling world to its core. Due to this, his streak ended after 21 consecutive wins.

It has been nine years since the loss and it is still one of the most talked-about decisions in the history of professional wrestling. While many were against the decision to have Lesnar break it, others support it.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani on BT Sport, The Undertaker talked about Brock Lesnar ending his WrestleMania streak. According to The Undertaker, before WrestleMania, the outcome of his matches were usually predetermined. However, there were a few people who WWE Chairman Vince McMahon wanted to defeat him and break his winning streak. One of these individuals was Vladimir Kozlov.

“By the time we got to WrestleMania, we pretty much knew what was going to go down, but there were a few people I guess that he wanted to break the streak. (Vladimir) Kozlov, he wanted him. It was early on, and I think he wanted Edge to go over and Edge refused. He said, ‘No. I can’t do it.’ That’s how much he respected the streak and me and what that streak meant to the business. I didn’t know that at that time. I didn’t know that until years after. That says a lot about the human being he is.”

Even Jim Ross previously stated that The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak should have continued. The Deadman is currently enjoying life after retirement and fans will always appreciate him for all he did for the business.
