WWE Have Yet To Decide On WrestleMania Night One Main Event
WWE’s biggest show of the year is coming up on April 1st and 2nd, but the main even of night one is a big question. A report came out that said Rhea Ripley’s SmackDown Title challenge will close out night one, but that is a bit premature.
Fightful Select now reports that there is currently no word on which match will main event night one of WrestleMania 39. This is a situation that has a lot going on, and political reasons are a part of the conversation.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship was slated to main event. If that’s the case, several people who would typically be in the know, and many talent associated have not been informed that to be the case. The report stated that there were political reasons behind the decision, which we were told simply were the fact that there wasn’t a women’s main event on the 2022 WrestleMania card that closed the show
We can confirm that as of one point, The Usos vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn was slated to be the main event of the show, and there have been several in the company pushing for it to be.
Seth Rollins vs. Logan Paul is also set for night one. We have not heard that the remaining world title match, Bianca Belair vs. Asuka, has been considered for a main event slot at all.

It is interesting that Rhea Ripley’s Stranger Things commercial debuted a week before this report broke. During that commercial, John Cena’s voice asks Rhea Ripley if she’s ready to main event WrestleMania. This was apparently not an indication that Ripley vs Charlotte Flair will main event night one of the showcase of the immortals.
We will have to see how this situation shapes up on the road to WrestleMania. Obviously, there are a lot of things to unpack here.
