Cody Rhodes Was Fine With Roman Reigns’ Taking Dig At His AEW Run
Cody Rhodes made a sudden departure from AEW in February last year, leaving fans in shock. Prior to his exit, Rhodes was a standout performer in AEW programming, helping to elevate numerous fellow wrestlers with his captivating performances.
Cody Rhodes was frequently booed in AEW toward the very end of his run with the company. Fans simply wanted him to turn heel no matter what, but that never happened. Rhodes also does not want to change a thing about that.
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes had an intense promo battle during Monday Night RAW. Reigns said that Cody Rhodes ran away as he didn’t want to be Stardust and then started a company he couldn’t get over it and ran away from there as well.
While speaking to Wrestle Joy about the reference, the American Nightmare made it clear that he loved the fact that Roman Reigns mentioned his AEW run for many reasons.
“I love that Roman brought it up in terms of running. I have to own it. I did meet adversity and I did not say, you know what, I’m gonna put my feet in the sand and stay. I didn’t put my flag here. I’m not gonna get back to the campus. I’m gonna find a different campus. I hate the expression ‘trust the process’ with all my life. Why not create the process? Why do I have to trust the process? I’d rather create the process. Roman isn’t wrong that the business stung me, and I had to move away from where I got stung. I couldn’t just continue to get stung.”

Cody Rhodes is also the favorite to defeat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. We will have to wait and see whether The American Nightmare will be able to topple Roman Reigns.
