Konnan Thinks Wardlow Will Jump Ship To WWE Due To Bad Booking In AEW
According to wrestling veteran Konnan, a big name in AEW is considering a move to WWE due to poor booking decisions that have caused the star to lose momentum in Tony Khan’s company. The performer in question is none other than former TNT Champion Wardlow, who was once one of the biggest stars in the promotion and regularly received thunderous reactions from the crowds.
However, his momentum began to dwindle, and he lost the TNT Championship. He then took some time away from the promotion, only to return and rekindle his feud with Samoa Joe. Wardlow eventually regained the championship he had previously held at Revolution 2023, but his reign was short-lived as he lost it to Powerhouse Hobbs on the following Dynamite, just days after winning it.
While speaking on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan talked about Wardlow’s current condition in AEW. Tony Khan and AEW have received criticism for their handling of the talented star, and Konnan has joined the conversation, stating that there is no valid reason for Wardlow’s poor booking unless he has backstage issues. The WCW legend added that Mr. Mayhem may be considering a future in AEW’s rival promotion, WWE.
“I’m not saying that he can’t be rehabilitated, but there was no reason to do what you’ve done to him. Unless he has heat. But the only thing you’re doing is – this guy who is good-looking, young, good wrestler, athletic, good promo, likable – he’s probably thinking: ‘What am I doing here? Maybe I should go to WWE,’ and I’m sure they’d love to have him. But I think they dropped the ball on him.”

We will have to wait and see what will become of Wardlow in the end. After all, his subpar booking has left a lot to be desired. Perhaps a stint in WWE might just be what he needs.
