GUNTHER’s remarkable performance in NXT UK made history in the modern WWE era, as he held the NXT UK Title for a record-breaking 870 days, becoming the longest-reigning champion. He is now a regular feature on Friday Night Smackdown, and fans remain enamored with GUNTHER, eagerly anticipating his every appearance in the ring.
The Ring General won the WWE Intercontinental Championship in June 2022 and has since defended it seven times. His reign is already one is the best in the company’s history.
While speaking with SPORTbible, Rhea Ripley made it clear that she would be absolutely down to square off against GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship. The Eradicator doesn’t seem ready to back down from that fight, either.
“I would love to face Gunther. I would absolutely be down for that. I would love to try [to] go for the Intercontinental Championship – it would be another history-making event which is all I want [to] do. I want to be remembered for breaking the stereotype for women at the same time.”

GUNTHER is set to defend his Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 39. That match could be a banger on the showcase of the immortals. We will have to wait and see if he will be able to retain the title at the show of shows.
