Rick Steiner Banned From Future WrestleCon Events After Transphobic Insults Aimed At Gisele Shaw
Rick Steiner’s transphobic comments about Gisele Shaw brought a lot of attention. His name trended on social media for all the wrong reasons, and now it seems that he is not allowed to come back to Wrestlecon at all.
Gisele Shaw logged onto Twitter this morning, which happens to be International Transgender Day of Visibility, and she shared a troubling story. The story included the fact that Rick Steiner called her terrible transphobic slurs while misgendering her.
PW Insider elaborated on this story about Rick Steiner. It was reported that Wrestlecon was unable to contact the Steiner Brother until this morning. He now knows the repercussions to his actions.
Rick Steiner is now banned from all future Wrestlecon events. Steiner was brought in by a third-party vendor, and not by the actual convention.
It seems that Rick Steiner won’t be back to any future Wrestlecon events now, and that’s probably for the best. Only time will tell how his next appearance goes, but the WWE Hall of Famer certainly caused a stir at Wrestlecon.
