WWE’s Deal With Saudi Arabia Unaffected By Sale

Although they haven’t come up with a new name yet, WWE and UFC will combine into a new publicly traded company. This could see talent exchanged, but we have not heard any specifics about that. At this point, WWE is still working with Saudi Arabia, so their big event in May is still on.

While speaking with Axios, Nick Khan confirmed that WWE’s relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will keep going. He also praised the controversial country for being a terrific partner.

“[O]ur relationship with The Kingdom is a terrific partnership for which we’re appreciative of, and you know, nothing in terms of anyone else’s prior experience will affect that. We think that we’ve delivered the product in the way that the Kingdom wanted it delivered. We have a multiple year agreement with them in place. We’re excited to do a show — we’ll be back there May 27 for a big premium live event.“

WWE has a lot of things going on, and there are far more questions than answers right now. Their deal with Saudi Arabia will not end, despite the fact that the company was sold to another interested buyer other than the controversial kingdom.
